About Me
Sandeep Singh Tiwari is a Law Scholar, Philosopher, Author, Critic Writer by passion and an Advocate by profession. He is a third-generation lawyer in his family. He is a "Life Member" of "Supreme Court Bar Association". He founded a law firm in 2002 REWA&CO. (Advocates & Solicitors), which is as of now incorporated as REWA LAW ATTORNEYS LLP. He was also Founder Designated Partner / Managing Partner (Infrastructure) of AUGUST ATTORNEYS LLP. He is an eminent arguing counsel in the Supreme Court of India and has 24 years of vast experience in Advocacy and Consultancy in Infrastructure, Arbitration, Taxation and Criminal Law.
He joined the law profession in 1999 as an advocate in the Super Court of India. In the early days, he was a junior of the Late V.B. Joshi, AoR, Supreme Court of India, after getting enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. In 2002 he started his independent practice and within a short time, he emerged as a well-known figure as an Arguing Counsel for Criminal Law, Arbitration, Taxation and Company & Insolvency Laws.
His focused legal practice areas are infrastructure consultancy, arbitration and taxation. He provided consultancy and legal services to Meinhardt Singapore Pte. Ltd., Meinhardt Group, Airport Authority of India, IL&FS, Bajaj Auto Ltd.'s Union, CLW's Union, RLDA, Ecovinal International, Kaveri Agri Care, Hi-Tech Agro Project, UGVNL, MCD And Several Urban Bodies, PSU etc.
He also provided consultancy to the Ministry of New Renewable Energy, Govt. of India in framing of policy and guidelines for Solar Energy and to the Ministry of Urban Development for Municipal Solid Waste Management. He was a lead counsel for Union of India in the notable PIL "Almitra H. Patel Vs. UoI & Others" before the Supreme Court of India, whereby due to his special attention, the Hon'ble Supreme Court had vacated the stay on subsidy of waste to energy projects. He was counsel to the FCI before the Central Advisory Contract Labour Board, Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India. On his advice and report, the CACLB had abolished contract labour in 13 FCI Depots in Uttar Pradesh, India. He is the defence counsel in several notable criminal cases before the Supreme Court including a famous mob lynching case that happened in police station Dulina, Jhajjar, Haryana on 15th Oct 2002, whereby five thousand people attacked the police station and killed five Dalits who were arrested on allegation of skinning and slaughter of cow.
He is counsel for Farha Anwar Hussain Sheikh at Supreme Court in a pending famous PIL for permitting Muslim women to enter mosques for prying Namaz. Apart from this, several laws were laid down by the Supreme Court and High Courts based on his legal submission in various notable cases and he won several Arbitral Awards in disputes relating to Infrastructure.
